Years ago I remember hearing my mother say that her favorite meal was one that someone else had prepared. I didn’t understand at the time, but now as a working mom I completely understand! Last summer our beekeeper Mike Dulavitz invited our family over for an impromptu summer cookout. While sitting is his kitchen watching him cook, I learned this delicious recipe. Now, when we make it we call it Dulavitz Style. You can also sub other veggies such as summer squash or eggplant for the green beans. Or do all three! This is also a good way to use up beans that have grown a little large. Cut them in 1″ pieces and simmer until tender.
1 head garlic, chopped
1 quart fresh tomatoes, chopped
1 quart/pound green beans, trimmed
Salt to taste
Sautee the garlic in olive oil just until fragrant.
Add the tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes and then add green beans and simmer for 15 minutes.
